Epithalon
Epithalon (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly tetrapeptide) is a synthetic analog of Epithalamin (pineal extract), developed by Russian gerontologist Vladimir Khavinson. Activates telomerase to lengthen telomeres (5–15%), restoring cellular lifespan. Over 100 studies show anti-aging effects: lifespan +12–27% (mice), melatonin ↑, tumor suppression.
Mechanism
- Telomerase ↑: TERT gene expression → telomere elongation.
- Pineal Reactivation: Melatonin, serotonin synthesis.
- Epigenetic: Chromatin decondensation → gene reactivation.
- Antioxidant: SOD/catalase ↑, oncogene suppression.
PK: SubQ/nasal; half-life ~2h; cumulative effects.
| Effect | Outcomes |
|---|---|
| Telomeres/Lifespan | Human fibroblasts: Hayflick limit +10–34 doublings; mice +12% (Adv Gerontol). |
| Immune/Pineal | T-cells ↑, melatonin x2–5 (Clin Interv Aging). |
| Cancer Prevention | Retards mammary tumors 3x (mice). |
| Sleep/Anti-Aging | Insomnia ↓, skin/mortality benefits (elderly). |
| Human Trials | 20yr study: mortality -1.6x vs. control. |
Protocols (Research)
| Goal | Dose (mg/cycle) | Frequency/Method | Regimen |
|---|---|---|---|
| Longevity | 5–10 | 10–20 days SubQ | 2–3x/year |
| Anti-Aging | 3–5 | Nasal daily x10 days | Semi-annual |
| Sleep/Pineal | 1–3mg/day | Nightly x10 | Seasonal |
| Telomere Support | 10mg/cycle | Microdose ongoing | Quarterly |
- Cycle: Spring/fall alignment (pineal peak).
- Stack: Pinealon (brain), Testagen (testes).
Benefits
- Lifespan Extension: Telomere maintenance.
- Sleep/Hormones: Melatonin normalization.
- Immune Rejuvenation: T-cell function.
- Cancer Protection: p53/telomerase balance.
- Organ Regeneration: Epiphyseal focus.
